It was good!!!!!! "Soul Purpose is Good"

On my spiritual journey I try to reflect on things that can advance my growth. Today I was on the plane on my journey back from the Soul Purpose jump off event in New York, I was reflecting on what a wonderful event it was. The faces of the women and men were just beautiful and thoughtful and positive. I felt honored to be in their presence. I felt light and warm and comfortable and un-complicated.
In my devotional book the readings for this week are about loving thy neighbor, sabbath and appreciating the things that are good in your life. It is a reflection on the belief that when God created differents elements of the earth he paused and said "It was Good". My devotional encourages us to pause and reflect on the things that are good in our lives; to appreciate them and be grateful for them.
I believe that Soul Purpose is a good thing. I believe that our Soul Purpose community is a good community; I believe that our vision and mission are good ones.
I pray for God's blessings on this community, that it will continue to be a good things.
there are a few passages of scripture on the bottom of this post to reflect on.
What is good in your life? What are you grateful for?
Much love,
Nadine

Genesis 1
The Beginning 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Your entry couldn't have been more timely, Nadine. I found myself recently only thinking about the negative things occurring in my life and in society today. Your entry reminded me to count my blessings daily because I have much for which to be thankful. My health, family, friends and other loved ones. roof over my head and food on the table. Relative stability in a time that seems unstable. A great Soul Purpose community. Hm. I really need to remember to count the blessings at all times. When we think that we don't have many, we probably have many more than we realized.

TEARS at the office!

I tell ya, Nadine, this is why I just can't read your posts on the day job.

This past weekend my sweetie and I went out to the cars to begin our Saturday errands... only to find that - not one but **BOTH** of our cars had been broken into.

Right in our "nice, safe, suburban" subdivision.

Smashed in both car windows, s brand new stereos stolen, 2 dashboards ripped apart...

I was a basket case, (to say the least). Any of you who've experienced that horror know well the sense of invasion you feel...like being kicked in the stomach. I don't care so much about the things (well I do, but y'know what I mean), it's the idea that, "DANG, can't 'these people' just get a JOB".

But yesterday evening... after 4 days of recovery, the strangest thing happened.

As we climbed into bed, and I opened my nightly gratitude journal, I looked over at him and honestly, truly said, "Y'know... I'm grateful for what we've experienced thru the break-in, are you?"

Yeah, he was. He actually got "there" sooner than I did.

But it was a beautiful moment when we realized how *LUCKY* we are that life... um.. Life has chosen and placed us to NOT need to choose crime to sustain our lives. Lucky that we were not harmed. Lucky that the damage was not worse. Lucky that we have Soul Purpose AND a day job so we can afford to just whine about the expense. Lucky. Lucky. Lucky in SO many ways.

How gloriously complicated, and blissfully simple this life is! I am SOOO blessed to be part of the SP community.

And Nadine, after reading your earlier post detailing the WS debacle (*THANK* you for doing that!!) I made sure to pass it on to all of those folks who contacted me 9n 2008 about joining who hadn't yet done so.

As I say on my own blog at www.SoulPurposeSpa.org:

"Nadine... you are a noble, classy, and righteous woman. I applaud you!"

Much respect,
